RICHA + SKYLER A September wedding at Apple Mountain
Richa and Skyler had the most beautiful day for their wedding! It was the time of year when summer is not quite over but the first cool breeze of fall starts to roll in - my absolute favorite:) The couple had their day planned to perfection - everyone was so relaxed and happy from start to finish and things couldn’t have rolled any smoother!
Richa had the pleasure of wearing two dresses on her wedding day! The first was a traditional gown from India that she wore to honor her family’s Indian heritage. She wanted her “first look” with Skyler to be in that dress. It was a stunning two piece, ivory beaded gown and she looked positively radiant in it! Richa said that the full skirt of the dress was definitely made for twirling! And twirl she did :) It really was a magical dress. I saw her mother’s eyes sparkle as she watched her daughter’s joy - twirling around the room. Being a mother myself, I could only imagine in that moment, she was seeing the 5 year old version of Richa - twirling in her dress- up clothes and thinking to herself - wasn’t that only yesterday? I saw that same love and adoration in the eyes of Skyler as they had their private first look - and afterwords she couldn’t wait to have him twirl her around the yard. It was a touching moment:)
Skyler then went on to the ceremony site to gather with his groomsmen as the girls finished getting ready - and Richa could get into her other gorgeous dress she would wear for the ceremony.
The wedding ceremony took place in a small, historical chapel on the grounds of the golf resort. It was the perfect setting for their intimate wedding! My favorite part of the ceremony was listening to the vows that they had written. They said the most thoughtful and loving words to each other and I loved when Richa said - she had waited so long for this day, but not because of the wedding, but because it would begin the first day of their lives together as husband and wife. I again looked at both of their parents - they were drying their eyes after the vows and I can imagine the joy they had knowing their child had found someone who loved them as much as they do.
The celebration carried on into the night at the reception and I don’t think anyone left the dance floor - especially once the Baliwood music started! I must say - it’s my new favorite!! And yes, the twirls most definitely continued:)
I wish the new Mr. and Mrs. Skrzypczak every happiness as they begin their life together! It was an honor for my sister and I to capture your day! Enjoy just a few of the highlights of their day!
