PAIGE + MARC An elegant Downtown Midland & Apple Mountain Golf Club Wedding

Paige and Marc let me begin by telling you what an honor it was to be able to capture your wedding day. I can’t believe it has come and gone - it seems like just yesterday that Marc proposed in Las Vegas and all of the planning began.

The two of them met shortly after college. Paige had just begun her nursing career and one of her co-workers, that she had gotten to know quite well, wanted to set her up on a date with her brother - I think she was the first to sense that the two would be a good fit:) Paige finally agreed - and as luck would have it, Paige and Marc have been inseparable ever since! All of their friends and family quickly knew this was the real thing and their lives meshed together perfectly.

Paige and Marc had such an elegant wedding day! The weather was touch and go all week not knowing if the rain would hold off - but we were prepared for anything. It turned out to be gorgeous - although we traded rain for some record heat! You’d never know it though - Paige looked glowing and flawless all day!

Their day began in downtown Midland at the beautiful H hotel where they got ready. Paige and Marc chose to do a first look and shared that emotional moment there as well. That has to be my favorite part of the day and so hard as a photographer to keep it all together and get the shots too! Paige also got to share a special moment with her dad. He arrived in style to take her to the original first look location - but plans sometimes change, and after being out in the heat a bit they decided to do it inside at the hotel instead. After a quick stop to the beautiful Dow Gardens for more portraits - it was off to the Memorial Presbyterian Church for the ceremony. Let me just say -WOW - what a church! It had an isle that went on for days! It made me feel like a royal wedding could easily be held there:)

The day was filled with powerful emotion in so many ways. Just over 4 years ago, Paige lost her brother Reed in a tragic accident. The two of them were very close in age and extremely close as brother and sister. His absence was greatly felt on this day, and the family found beautiful ways to honor his memory. Paige and her mom had a heart patch sewn inside of their dress which was made from one of Reed’s shirts and a bit of lace from her wedding gown. Marc and Paige’s dad wore one inside of their jacket as well. All of the bridal bouquets had a “Live like Reed” band around the stems. This has become a phrase and a way of living that the family and community continues to honor him with.

The love that radiated from all of their friends and family throughout the day was amazing and I was honored to meet so many wonderful people. It is a testament to who Paige and Marc are and they certainly have a village of love and support that will surround them always!

Stunning dress!

After their wedding ceremony, the newlyweds greeted guests at the Apple Mountain Golf Club in Freeland for the reception. All of the details were gorgeous! Paige and Marc had a beautiful tiered cupcake display along with a small cake to cut. The cake topper was the same one that Paige’s grandparents used on their wedding cake and can hopefully pass down to their children one day!

Once the band started, I don’t think anyone left the dance floor the entire night. I must say that the band, Jedi Mind Trip was AMAZING and made it hard for anyone to stay in their seat!

When sun was setting, Paige and Marc had a private, heartfelt moment with their family and lit a lantern as a tribute to Paige’s brother Reed.
