NICOLE + LANCE - Intimate Perfection - A Countryside Michigan Wedding

     This wedding is going to stay in my heart for a long time to come.  Nicole and Lance got married, surrounded by immediate family and friends, in the backyard of Nicole’s childhood Michigan home.  The site was breathtaking -  set in front of a willow tree that her father’s uncle planted over 90 years ago.  Their families are as close as it gets - the love could be felt by anyone who witnessed them all together.   Nicole was fortunate to grow up with both sets of grandparents, as well as great aunts and uncles - all within a mile of each other! 

     Their love, faith and strength truly shined thru that day when Nicole’s grandfather, who had recently become ill, passed away in the early morning hours of their wedding day.  He was surrounded by all of his family. They could have all been broken, or even postponed the wedding - but it was unbelievable how they rallied together to make sure Nicole and Lance had the beautiful wedding day that they deserved.  Their strong faith held them together and they knew that he was still with them all that day.  My sister and I were so taken back by the fact that Nicole’s father, who had just lost his own father hours ago, was constantly asking if WE needed anything.  It was touching how much he wanted to make the day as perfect as it could be for his daughter and new son in law.   To make the day even more touching - Nicole’s sister officiated the wedding ceremony!  It was so beautiful, simple and perfect.  No bridal party - just the two of them before their immediate family and a few close friends - sharing their heartfelt vows. 

     Nicole and Lance will have a reception later this summer for all of their extended family and friends in downtown Grand Rapids, which is where Lance grew up.  

     Congratulations Nicole and Lance!  We know you will have a beautiful life together!  My sister and I were so honored to have been a part of your special day - we will never forget it!
