KATIE + DEVIN - A July wedding at St. Stanislaus Kauska church in Bay City & reception at Dow Diamond in Midland
Katie and Devin got married on a sunny July afternoon at the majestic St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Bay City. Katie looked stunning as she walked down the aisle - such a beautiful gown! The cathedral is not only beautiful, but steeped in history for Katie’s family. Her father took me over to one of the numerous stained glass windows that are throughout the church, to show me the names in the glass that belong to Katie’s great grandparents! How cool is that! Both Katie and Devin grew up in that area and obviously generations before them did as well:)
Katie and Devin, met and began dating while attending SVSU and it wasn’t long before they both realized they’d found their forever with each other!
After the ceremony, we went to a couple of places in Bay City for photographs. It’s one of my favorite cities to shoot in - so many great locations! We then headed to the reception venue - Dow Diamond in Midland. I can’t say enough good things about that venue and their staff - all top notch and attentive to every detail and the needs of everyone! The venue selection had a special meaning for Devin and his family. His father was a HUGE Great Lakes Loons baseball fan - one of their biggest, and sadly, he lost his battle with ALS two years ago. It goes without saying what a tremendous loss it was for the family. They shared with me how the Loons mascot, Louie, went to visit him at home when he was no longer able to attend their games. That speaks volumes to what a great organization the Great Lakes Loons is - and how it will always hold a special place in the hearts of Devin and his family.
The newlyweds enjoyed every second of the day and night with their awesome friends and family -the smiles on their faces all day said it all! It was such a pleasure to be able to share it right along with them. I really have the best job:)
