KATE + PAUL - A Fall Wedding in Frankenmuth, MI
There is something so special about a wedding in the fall. The air is brisk, the color of the leaves are showing their beauty and there is just a new found energy in the air after the summer heat has gone. The mid- October afternoon that Kate and Paul got married did not disappoint:) They chose to get married in the picturesque village of Frankenmuth, MI. If you’re not from Michigan, it’s a little German village that is visited by thousands of people from around the world each year. They come for the quaint shops that line the pictuesque streets, the world famous chicken dinners and German cuisine, beautiful breweries, and one of the largest Christmas shops in the US. It is a beautiful place to get married!
We started the day in a secluded courtyard, where Kate and Paul shared a private first look with each other. Whenever a couple decides to do a first look before the ceremony - it is always one of my favorite parts of the day - so emotional! After that - we made our way to some gorgeous, off the beaten path locations around the town for photographs.
Their wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Frankenmuth Brewery. It is a fantastic wedding venue space - so elegant with beautiful views of the river. Paul and Kate had an intimate ceremony, surrounded by their family and closest friends as they shared their wedding vows. It was so heartwarming and truly a family affair. Kate’s father made the wedding arbor that they stood under as they became husband and wife - and Kate’s aunt arranged all of the flowers that decorated the arbor - as well as all of the centerpieces throughout the reception space! Every little detail was stunning!
My favorite part of the day, aside from seeing the happiness radiating from Kate and Paul, was listening to the beautiful speeches prepared by the maid of honor and best man. I love to hear more about the wedding couple thru the eyes of those that know and love them the most. Paul’s best man actually re-wrote every verse of the Cat in the Hat - to fit the story of how Paul and Kate met, and their journey together that let to this day! It was so moving and hilarious at the same time.
Kate and Paul - you are both truly blessed to have found each other, and to have the love and support of such wonderful family and friends! Here’s to a lifetime of new stories and love!
Enjoy just a few of my favorite images from their day!
