JACLYN + ZACK - An Intimate Michigan Wedding

    Jaclyn and Zack’s beautiful wedding day finally took place after having to postpone from their original May date.  It was touch and go, right up to just days before the wedding, as the state pandemic restrictions were continually changing.  They were fortunate enough to have a venue that also had outdoor accommodations which is what ultimately allowed for them to have their reception at all.  It may have been less than half the number they originally planned on, but their friends and family still had a wonderful celebration!!  All of the set backs that were so crushing at first - seemed to pale in comparison to the fact that Jaclyn’s mother, who’s been courageously fighting cancer for some time now, had an unexpected set-back that required her to go into the hospital the night before the wedding.  Being a mother myself, I can only imagine the devastation she must have felt, not being by her daughter’s side on her wedding day.  And her absence, of course, was equally emotional for Jaclyn. My heart just broke for both of them.  

    I will tell you this - both Jaclyn and Zack have the most amazing friends and family!! They came together and tried to keep the mood uplifted and joyful, despite the obvious absence.  There were tears, as well as laughter throughout the entire day and their love radiated thru it all!  It was touching how they managed to find a videographer at literally the last second, so her mom would not miss seeing a second of their day:)

    Jaclyn and Zack - my sister Kelley and I were so honored to photograph your wedding day and to get to know you both throughout this last year!  The love and respect you have for each other is obvious to all who know you!  You guys have already figured out what some people never do - hold tight and cherish those you love, because at the end of the day - that’s really all that matters!
