ASHLEY + DEJAN A Beautiful Grand Rapids, MI Wedding

I love the fall!  There is always a hint of freshness in the air that is a welcome change from the summer heat.  September in Michigan can be one of the best months of the year - but     as Michiganders know all too well - everything can change dramatically with our weather in the blink of an eye!  Sunny and warm one day - and biting wind and rain the next.  Well Ashley and Dejan were blessed with a GORGEOUS crisp cool sunny day that left us all smiling!

I have known Ashley for many years as her brother is also my son-in-law!  Needless to say she is definitely like family to me.  Her entire family is so warm and loving and I consider myself lucky to have them all in my life:)

Ashley wore a stunning v-neck satin gown with gorgeous low back detail that made her look like a classic Hollywood movie star!  Her beauty radiated the entire day as much as the love between her and Dejan.  There is always so much love in the air on a wedding day - but these two just seemed to have such an unspoken connection that was obvious to all around them.  They definitely found their “one and only” and it was truly special to watch!  During the the portrait sessions - we never had to adjust one thing for Ashley - it was the sweetest thing to see that Dejan was always one step ahead of us - making sure every inch of Ashley’s dress was perfect and that her train was laying like it should.  He positively adores her - melt my heart.     After getting ready at the beautiful Amway Grand Hotel, they went outside to a secluded area where they shared their private first look.  That is always so touching and one of my favorite parts of the day.   The group then proceeded walking thru the streets of Grand Rapids while taking portraits - what a riot!  To say that their bridal party was energetic and fun-loving would be an understatement! The highlight had to be when we got to the Grand Rapids Museum. There just happened to be speakers set up with loud music playing that filled the streets - the entire party “got their grove on” and enjoyed the moment to say the least!  It sure did make for some of the best portraits of the day - and something I’m sure the couple will never forget!  We made our way thru the city and ended at the Waldron Public House which was both the wedding and reception venue.  It was such a cool urban venue - the perfect setting for Ashley & Dejans intimate and elegant gathering.  We loved meeting and getting to know all of their sweet friends and extended families throughout the evening.
